Wrocław University of Technology is a public institution which was founded in 1945, but its academic legacy dates back over 160 years to the Lviv University. Our position in the research and teaching field places us among the three best technical universities in Poland. The educational standards offered at the university are closely connected with its dynamic scientific work and industrial experience. Research and education are strongly infl uenced by international cooperation with over 400 partner universities all over the world. Over 1000 scientists from European, American, Asian and Australian universities and several dozens of international students pass through our university every year.
The university offers Bachelor and Master programmes and PhD studies. We apply the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and issue Diploma Supplements. There are nearly 33 thousand students at Wrocław University of Technology enrolled in a wide range of fields offered by 12 faculties and the Department of Fundamental Studies.
Students and academics participate in programs such as LLP-Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci and Erasmus Mundus (Brasil, Russia). We employ over 4 000 staff, half of which are academics.
The campus of the university houses 255 buildings and is located in a very attractive area with strong communication links. It is close to the city centre and to the dormitories. Students have free access to the library, which is open 7 days a week. They can use the computer laboratories with free Internet access in our campus open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Students can register in different associations and student science clubs – there are almost 100 of them. On the campus, there are also a few bars and canteens.
